| Dereham entertained a mid table Narborough side and came out well deserved 7-1 winners. Dereham started strongly and soon took the lead through Adam Manly after some good work form Gizzy King. Dereham continued to probe but against the run of play a deflected through ball wrong footed the Dereham defence and Narborough equalised. Dereham created several opportunites without taking the lead until Kyle Meachen, pouncing on a loose second ball, curled a fantastic 25 yard effort into the net. The second half started much the same with Dereham in the accendency, the only Narborough chance producing a sharp save from Patterson in the Dereham goal. Dereham increased their lead after an excellent crossfield ball from Woodgett put Manly through who finished emphatically with a well struck dipping volley. Dereham continued to pose a threat from each attack whilst the excellent Bowers cleaned up any ideas Narborough had of troubling the scorers. Dereham soon went form 3-1 to 5-1 with a Wes Baines headed brace, the second of which being a Terryesque bullet header from the far post to the opposite corner, both goals assisted by King. Adam Manly completed his hatrick after another defence splitting ball from Woodgett and assured finish by Manly. Dereham were now attacking at will with the Narborough defence struggling to keep up with the high tempo and free flowing football of this very young Dereham side. Gizzy King completed the scoring with a sweetly struck free kick that found the top corner past a floundering Narborough keeper. This was a first rate perfomance from a very young Dereham side looking to play football. |
