After an inconvenient series of consecutive draws Dereham A got back to winning ways by beating Yaxham 6-2 at Aldiss Park. Yaxham were two up after 20 minutes after a slow start from a Dereham side once again fielding a mostly very young and inexperienced side. Dereham finally got going and went into half time equal thanks to goals from Curtis Hackett and Lee Cork. After inspirational words from the management Dereham started the second half strongly and completely controlled the game. Lee Cork scored a superb volley to go 3-2 up and an own goal took Dereham to four. New signing Gav Hughes was running the game in midfield and Giz King was unlucky not to get on the score sheet, but the goal of the game was scored after a fantastic flowing move involving most of the team resulting in a neat finish from Curtis Hackett. Lee Cork completed the scoring and his hat-trick with an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net from 18 yards. Yaxham looked a much better side than recent results suggest but Dereham showed how far they have come by recovering from a 2 goal deficit to win convincingly. |
